How does SABIC supplier registration work?
SABIC's published route separates supplier-profile creation and due diligence from technical qualification and onboarding. The correct starting point is one legal entity, one evidence-based scope of supply and a document set that tells the same story across company, ownership, bank and technical records.
SABIC supplier-file readiness checklist
- Commercial and legal-entity records for the company that will contract and invoice.
- Bank, ownership, organization and authorized-representative information that matches the applying entity.
- A precise scope of supply supported by actual products, services, licences, agency or manufacturing evidence.
- A current company profile, organization chart, project references and technical capability evidence.
- Due-diligence responses and supporting records for the topics requested in the current workflow.
- Clear ownership of the supplier account, document-expiry tracking and a log of clarification requests.
Registration, qualification and Vendor ID are not the same
SABIC explains a staged journey: create the profile and complete due diligence; complete the level of technical qualification determined from the submitted information and risk, which may include a site visit; then complete onboarding. A Vendor ID is linked to completing the required stages, and registration does not guarantee future business.
Common causes of delay
- A scope of supply that is broader than the company's licences and evidence.
- Conflicting legal name, ownership, bank or authorized-signatory details.
- Mixing the documents of a parent, branch, factory or distributor without explaining the relationship.
- Incomplete due-diligence responses or unsupported declarations.
- Expired certificates, unclear ISO scope or missing product and project evidence.
